Customer Review: Better than nothing, but not for long Summary: 2 StarsI really wanted to like this flashlight. It's a cool idea, and I'd really like to get away from keeping batteries on hand in an emergency. The light isn't very bright, as many people have said, and it's the weird LCD light. This would still be ok for power outages, etc., but for one thing - the first time I used it, the cat bumped it and it fell to the floor - the thing shattered. Not exaggerating - broke into a lot of really tiny pieces. I still don't know if I've found all of it. What a waste of money. Any normal flashlight would have been fine. This thing is a fad. Do yourself a favor and keep something sturdy nearby - with batteries, of course.
Customer Review: Bad flashlight Summary: 1 StarsThis flashlight is not waterproof! If you looking for waterproof, do not buy this. I dropped into water then I have water inside now.
Customer Review: A Product that I can recommend without reservation! Summary: 5 StarsI bought this because I wanted to have a light that I could leave down in my basement for low light situations, like picking things out of storage under the stairs and looking in my little chest freezer, which doesn't have a light, without worrying about dampness or batteries fading over time. I received this and played with it for a while, because the customer reviews indicate that the quality doesn't seem to be consistent in their manufacture. However, I'm delighted with my flashlight. The real product specifications say that 1 minute of shaking will produce one hundred minutes of light, and I've only had to shake this thing a couple of times in a LOT of use. I'm sold on it - so much so that I'm buying one for the house, one for the car, and one for my emergency kit. I'm even thinking about giving them as gifts. If any of them don't work, I'll return it.
I really don't know what the gripe is when a product doesn't work. Especially in a case like this, return the product so the company can see what they're doing wrong and fix it. These people aren't dumb - they know that they have something new, and that the more reliable their products are the more money they'll get. I contacted iTouchless at 650-578-0578, and asked them what they do if the flashlight is defective. They said that they offer a mail exchange for the customer, if it's within 30 days of purchase. And they pay the mail charges. So I'm buying more.
Oh, by the way, I've heard that there are extremely cheap so-called "shake" flashlights out there that really have batteries in them. This is not one of those. I looked into this before I made my first purchase, because I knew that if this worked, I'd want more of them.
