I got this can for my bathroom. I have a dog that gets into the waste basket so this keeps him out well (it scares him). I tried cans that step on and manually lift but I have limited space, so the step one hit the wall and the lift one grossed me out with everyone touching it. This is a little big for the space but works the best of all of them. The down side of an covered can in the bathroom is that it holds in smells so when you open it ...icky sometimes, but that just means we need to change the bag, so that's ok. Sometimes these cans open when you are near but don't need them, which is sort of entertaining.... you can say "hi" or yell at it depending on your mood! I have one for the kitchen as well, gotten at costco and cheaper than this. But it was too big for the bathroom. So far I have not had to change the batteries on either can (had them for a couple months).Customer Review: Not so automatic trashcan

Less than a year ago I bought the Touchless Automatic Trashcan and thought it was a great addition to my kitchen. Then this past week it started to grind and refused to open for me. There is only two of us in the house so it was not because of overtasking the machine. I am disappointed in the trashcan as I came to depend on it,only to have it let me down.I hesitate in sending for another due to its relative high cost and its lack of reliability.

This was a gift to a friend who lives in Hawaii. She would cover her wastebasket with a box so that no bugs would get in. This was ideal gift and turned out to be a hit at her house. Cannot put this can behind a cabinet, when cabinet door is closed the door remains open. But overall, was a great hit! I gave 3 units out as christmas gifts.Customer Review: Look mom, no hands!

I had no idea what to expect from this product and I was pleasantly surprised. I bought this as a joke/gift for a friend and she just loves it. It's functional, clean and compact. Only drawback, only two colors to choose from for the kitchen.
